Dakota Valley 2017 homecoming BEST

The 2017 Dakota Valley homecoming queen is Madi Norton and king is Luke Johnson.

SIOUX CITY | Dakota Valley High School is celebrating homecoming week through Saturday, with the theme "Blast from the Past" for 2017.

The homecoming coronation took place Thursday, and Madison Norton, daughter of Shelly and Mike Norton, was crowned queen and Luke Johnson, son of Patrice and Paul Johnson, was crowned king.

The homecoming parade took place in North Sioux City Friday. The parade marshals were Melissa Bisenius and Penney Bressler, who began the Panther Pantry to help those in need in the school district.

The homecoming dance will take place in the high school commons at 8 p.m. Saturday.

The candidates for homecoming queen were Hanna Cummins, daughter of Becca and Dan Cummins, Hope Carlson, daughter of Shawn and Jeff Carlson, and Alyssa Johnson, daughter of Heather and Todd Johnson.

The candidates for homecoming king were Austin Carter, son of Corey and Cami Carter and Shawn and Missy Frankl, Noah Kieme, son of Julie and Terry Kieme, and Zach Masters, son of Julie and Dale Masters.
