East homecoming 2017

Grace Hildahl and Keven Hernandez were crowned queen and king for the 2017 East High homecoming.

SIOUX CITY | East High School is celebrating homecoming week through Saturday, with the 2017 theme “Dancing with the gods.”

The homecoming coronation was Monday. The homecoming queen is Grace Hildahl, daughter of Darin and Stacy Hildahl, and the king is Keven Hernandez, son of Alberto and Olga Hernandez.

The parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, from the corner of Peters Park and Morningside Avenue, and proceed to Cecelia Park.

The homecoming football game is set for 7 p.m. Friday, as the Black Raiders host Des Moines Roosevelt at Olsen Stadium.

The homecoming dance will take place at East High School from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday.

Homecoming queen candidates also included: Hannah Cooke, daughter of Cheryl Bentz and Adam Cooke; Taylor Copple, daughter of Jason and Teresa Copple; Ana Cruz, daughter of Sarah and Andres Cruz; Laura Houlsworth, daughter of Todd and Cindy Houlsworth; Ariel Kern, daughter of Troy and Cara Kern; Shana Mckie, daughter of Mandy Cook; Aleigha Peterson, daughter of Tammy Peterson; Avery Poole, daughter of Jason and Heather Poole; Alexandria Self, daughter of Jerry Self and Kellien Anderson; Olivia Tidwell, daughter of Ken and April Tidwell; and Lauren Van Dyke, daughter of Dave and Vicki Van Dyke.

Candidates for homecoming king also included: Anthony Anderson, son of Jan Anderson; Corey Choyce, son of Corey Choyce and Micheala French; Juan Gomez, son of Juan Gomez and Patricia Moreno; Samuel Hildahl, son of Darin and Stacy Hildahl; Corey Kellen, son of Kirk Kellen and Jeanette Dobson; James Page, son of Dave and Staci Page; Eric Steele, son of Willie and Melissa Steele; Carter Strom, son of Sherri Strom and the late Joe Strom; Cole Taylor, son of Chuck and Allison Taylor; Gabriel Ruiz, son of Ricardo and Andrea Ruiz; and Parker Wolf, son of Paul and Christine Wolf.
