SIOUX CITY | The Morningside College homecoming king and queen for 2017 are Matthew Nieland, a senior from Auburn, Iowa, and Madison Harpenau, a senior from Omaha, Nebraska.

The college royalty members were crowned last week, when a host of homecoming activities were held on the Sioux City campus. Reunion classes honored during homecoming were those from 1957, 1967, 1992 and 2007.

Over the week, Morningside students participated in a talent show, an amazing race obstacle competition and a Taste of Morningside food festival.

The homecoming football game included a lopsided victory for the Mustangs over Dakota Wesleyan University on Saturday. Other homecoming games included contests for the volleyball and men's and women's soccer teams. There were also alumni sports games.
