SIOUX CITY | Briar Cliff University in Sioux City has signed an agreement with Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, Iowa, allowing students with an associate’s degree in nursing to complete their Bachelors of Science Nursing degree through BCU.
Officials from both schools praised the so-called articulation agreement, as a means to offer convenience to nursing students.
Briar Cliff’s RN (Registered Nurse) to BSN program is specially designed for graduates of NCC’s Associate Degree Nursing Program who want to pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing. In the new agreement, students can transfer up to 90 credit hours from Northwest Iowa Community College and apply them towards a BSN degree at Briar Cliff. That means students have the opportunity to earn their bachelor’s degree online in two years or less.
Northwest Iowa Community College President Alethea Stubbe praised the partnership.
Briar Cliff officials tout the affordable value of the nursing training options. In addition to the RN-BSN degree, Briar Cliff also offers graduate programs for students who want to pursue additional nursing education.
