SIOUX CITY | West High School is celebrating homecoming week through Saturday, with the 2017 theme “Arabian Nights.”
The homecoming coronation was Tuesday night. The homecoming queen is Payton Beaumier, daughter of Kelly Beaumier and the late Cliff Beaumier, and the king is Oscar Grijalva, son of Oscar Grijalva and Felipa Mancillas.
The parade will begin at 1:30 p.m. Friday, from Heartland Baptist Church on West 19th Street, onto Rebecca Street and ending at Liberty Elementary School. The grand marshal is Joan O’Harrow, a 2016 West High retiree.
The homecoming football game will be played at 7:30 p.m. Friday, as the Wolverines host Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson at Olsen Stadium.
The homecoming dance will take place at West High School from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday.
Candidates for homecoming queen were: Neftali Ramirez, daughter of Diego and Rocio Ramirez; Caprice Delperdang, daughter of Layne and Trista Delperdang; Emily Molden, daughter of Mike and Sheila Molden; Caroline Oberg, daughter of Chris Oberg and Cindy Buys; Caroline Flannery daughter of Patrick and Stephanie Flannery; Mae Macfarlane, daughter of Jeff and Holly Macfarlane; Adilene Prieto, daughter of Hugo and Maria Prieto; Ciara Tullis, daughter of Brad and Tara Tullis; and Heidi Boettcher, daughter of Traci Verdoorn and Rodney Boettcher.
Candidates for homecoming king were: Simon Ngyuen, son of Boa Nguyen and Lam Ha; Bryon Cota, son of Alonso and Hermila Cota; Enrique DeLaGarza, son of Ron and Hollie DeLaGarza; Rafael Serrano, son of Rogelio and Amelia Serrano; Dustin Saia, son of Dawn Carney; Conner Birkes, son of Randy and Jackie Birkes; Blake Faber, son of Fred Faber; Alex Fracisco, son of Neil and Susan Fracisco; and Max Luesebrink, son of Mike and Rhonda Luesebrink.
