SIOUX FALLS -- The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls has issued flood warnings for the Big Sioux River near Hawarden, Iowa, and the Little Sioux River at Spencer, Iowa.

The Little Sioux's flood stage at Spencer is 10 feet, and the river was at 11.6 feet Wednesday at noon, according to the weather service. The flood warning will be in effect until Saturday afternoon.

The Big Sioux River near Hawarden measured 20.2 feet Wednesday morning, above the flood stage of 19 feet, the weather service reported. The warning is in effect until Thursday evening.

Minor flooding was reported in both areas, the weather service said.
