SIOUX CITY -- Rep. Chuck Holz has announced he will not seek re-election this year to House District seat.
The Le Mars Republican said Friday he plans "to move out of my district to be closer to my family."
Holz, a retired veterinarian, will serve three years by the time his current term ends this year. Holz won a special election in 2015 to finish out part of a two-year term after former Rep. Chuck Soderberg resigned. Holz then won a two-year term in 2016.
"I have enjoyed my time at the Capitol and representing the people of Plymouth and Woodbury counties," Holz said.
The House district is one of the most Republican dominant in the state.
