SOUTH SIOUX CITY | Longtime South Sioux City administrator Lance Hedquist will make $3,100 more this year after receiving a 2 1/2 percent raise Monday.
The South Sioux City Council in voted unanimously to award the raise to Hedquist, who has served as the city's administrator since 1980. It will bring his annual salary from $123,869.20 per year to $126,969.20 and will go into effect on all paychecks dating back to Oct. 1, the beginning of the city's fiscal year.
Hedquist will also receive a $450 per month car allowance, as outlined in the ordinance approved Monday.
Mayor Rod Koch said the council evaluates Hedquist's salary each year based on cost of living and performance. He said he and Hedquist will outline goals that could also result in a bonus later this year.
"We were glad to give him a raise," Koch said.
