SIOUX CITY | The Woodbury County Board of Supervisors wants rural residents to learn about county activities in a town hall meeting in Lawton, Iowa, on Dec. 11.
The meeting will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Lawton Community Center, 300 Cedar St.
County Board Chairman Matthew Ung will share an update on county business and the upcoming 2018-19 fiscal year budget. Other county elected officials will be present to provide their input on rural services they provide.
The county practice of holding meetings in each town in 2015 has morphed to the regional town hall meetings. To make the meeting pertinent to people living near Lawton, county department heads will share updates about expanding the U.S. Highway 20 corridor.
City mayors in attendance will also be invited to participate in a panel discussion of topics such as balancing urban and rural growth, plus gauging feedback on the county-funded comprehensive plans now underway.
