SIOUX CITY | Severe thunderstorms across Siouxland brought high winds that caused power outages and downed tree branches for many local residents.

According to news release from the city of Sioux City, Residents needing to dispose of tree debris can do so in the following ways:

--Yard debris can be taken to the Citizen's Convenience Center, 5800 28th St., for a fee of $15 per truckload.

--Branches and limbs that are 4 feet or less in length and under 4 inches in diameter can be bundled and placed next to the garbage bin for pickup during garbage collection. They must weigh under 35 pounds and have a solid waste sticker attached.

--Branches and limbs smaller than those dimensions can be loosely placed in residential garbage bins.

All debris must be free of building material and garbage. Solid waste stickers can be purchased at all major grocery stores or at City Hall's customer service desk.

In South Sioux City, crews will be going through the city Wednesday and Thursday to help pick up debris left in the curb area. Property owners must lay the debris at the curb for pickup. Limbs must be cut no longer than 5 feet in length.
