ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa | An Inwood, Iowa, man found guilty of having sexual contact with a young girl was sentenced Tuesday to 25 years in prison.
A Lyon County District Court jury in April found Perry VandeKieft, 41, guilty of second-degree sexual abuse.
VandeKieft had sexual contact with the 11-year-old girl at his home in February or March of 2016.
District Judge Patrick Carr also ordered VandeKieft to serve a special sex offender sentence, in which he will be on lifetime parole after completing his prison sentence. If he were to violate terms of the special sentence, he could be sent to prison. He also must register with the Iowa Sex Offender Registry for the rest of his life.
