LE MARS, Iowa | A Le Mars man charged with the stabbing death of his sister pleaded not guilty Friday to charges of first-degree murder and assault causing serious injury.
Thomas Allen Bibler, 33, submitted a written arraignment Friday with the plea of not guilty.
Bibler was arrested June 11 following the stabbing death of his sister, 27-year-old Shannon Bogh. According to court documents, shortly after 8 p.m. June 11, Bibler assaulted Bogh in her home, 591 15th St. SW, with an edged weapon. Police records state Bogh was transported to Floyd Valley Healthcare in Le Mars, where she died a short time later.
About 30 minutes later, a special response team entered Bibler's residence, 335 Fourth St. SE, Apartment No. 3, where he was arrested without incident.
Bibler's pretrial conference date is set for 10:30 a.m. Sept. 26. His jury trial is set for 9 a.m. Dec. 13.
