SIOUX CITY | Charlotte M. Irish, 87, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Aug, 13, 2013, at a local hospital.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Gerald Bruhn of Bethany Lutheran Church officiating. Charlotte was born on May 29, 1926, in Emerson, Neb., the daughter of John and Marie White.

Charlotte met William Irish during World War II, and they were married on May 11, 1944, in San Francisco, Calif. After her husband’s discharge from the U.S. Navy, they made their home in Sioux City. During 1975, the family moved to Pipestone, Minn. In the early 1980s, they moved to Huron, S.D., and later for a short time, to Sioux Falls. When Bill retired, they moved back to Sioux City in 1992.

Charlotte was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, gardening and singing in the church choir. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church.

Charlotte is survived by two sons, Mike Irish and his wife, Sharon of Sioux City, and Pat Irish of Sioux City; her daughter, Teresa Stenzel of Griswold, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one brother, Bob and his wife, Delphine White of Napa, Calif.; and two sisters, Lavonne Peterson of Lexington, Neb., and Sharon Hamilton of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William in 2007; and one brother, Richard White.
