Kelly Jean (Mann) Salazar, 54, of Sioux City, entered into God’s full presence on Monday, March 5, 2018, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be held 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Heartland Community Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gene Stockton officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Flowers and condolences may be sent to 1923 W. Fourth St., Sioux City.
Kelly was born on Feb. 15, 1964, in Sioux City to Lorna Waddell and Clifford Mann.
She married Juventino in Austin, Texas, on Oct. 20, 1983. Kelly and Juventino eventually returned to Sioux City to continue their lives. Kelly was easily able to produce a laugh or smile from those around her. Fiercely intelligent and quick-witted, Kelly was never afraid to tell the truth. Her brilliant spirit will be remembered by those who knew her as a light that will never go out.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Juventino Salazar; children, Alma Griffin (Tyler), Juaquin Salazar, Miguel Salazar, and Brittney Salazar (Matt); seven grandchildren, Maxwell and Malcolm Turner, Midaijah and Kalaia Salazar, Jasmine Mendoza, and Emrie and Jack Griffin; parents, Lorna Waddell and Clifford Mann; and brother, Danny Mann.
Kelly was preceded in death by her son, Juventino Jr.; and grandmother, Pearl.
