Marydonna E. Collins, 94, of Mapleton, formerly of Danbury, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. today at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Sioux City. The Rev. Peter Duc Hung Nguyen will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sioux City. Marydonna E. Collins, the daughter of John F. and Lucille J. (Starkey) Hackett, was born on Sept. 27, 1923, in Sioux City. Marydonna grew up in Sioux City and graduated from the Cathedral High School with the class of 1943. After high school, Marydonna attended nursing school in Chicago, Ill.
On July 1, 1946, Marydonna married Ralph Collins at Blessed Sacrament Church in Sioux City. The couple made their family home on a farm near Danbury.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Bonnie "Scottie" Poskevich, Don (Sandra) Collins, Allen Collins, and Dan (Shelley) Collins; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Jerry and Gloria Struble.
Marydonna was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lucille Hackett; her husband, Ralph Collins; son, Michael Patrick Collins; granddaughters, Michelle Cole and Stacie Collins; son-in-law, Ron Poskevich; brother, Francis Hackett; and grandmother, Flora Noble.
