Randy Lanser, 61, of Laurel, passed away Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, at his residence.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church in Allen, Neb. Burial will be in Laurel Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Hasemann Funeral Home in Laurel.
Randal Larry Lanser was born on March 17, 1956, in Wakefield, Neb., to Larry and Shirley (Jensen) Lanser. He was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Allen. He attended and graduated from Allen High School in 1974, Marine Mechanic Training, and Cooling and Refrigeration Training. Randy was well known to everyone as "Shine." Randy settled on a farm north of Laurel and began farming.
He married Susan McCorkindale in June 1984. To this union one son, Mitchel James, was born. Randal married Annette Pritchard in November 2010.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing, boating, water sports, traveling, cooking, socializing with friends, and listening to Jimmy Buffett. Randy always believed, "Farming is not an occupation, it's a lifestyle." His idea of a perfect day would conclude with a sunset on the Missouri River.
Randy is survived by his wife, Annette; daughters, Susan Pritchard of Sioux Falls, S.D., Lori Prichard (fiance, Spencer Lowe) of Lincoln, Neb., and Amy Pritchard (fiance, Matt Dohma) of Newcastle, Neb.; mother, Shirley Lanser of Allen; son, Mitchel Lanser of Wayne, Neb.; brother, Gary Lanser of Okeechobee, Fla.; sister, Sue (Warren) Miller of Allen; sisters-in-law, Kandy Lanser of Laurel, Sandy (Dave) McCorkindale of Lincoln, Sherri (Jason) Korte of Waukee, Iowa; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, niece, and nephews.
Randy was preceded in death by his first wife, Susan Lanser; father, Larry Lanser; and brother, Frank Lanser.
