Robert "Bob" William Puterbaugh, 69, of Sioux City, passed away Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, at a local hospital.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 26, at Onawa (Iowa) Community Center, with a last convoy to follow the service. A luncheon will follow at the community center. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.
Robert "Bob" W. Puterbaugh was born on March 10, 1948, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Robert and Avis (Blackburn) Puterbaugh. Bob grew up in Oceanside, Calif., where he graduated. He joined the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War and Persian Gulf War.
Bob married Tu Phan in Vietnam and had three daughters, Sandy, Brandy, and Mandy. He later married Norma Bodder, they had Aaron and James. Bob then married Robin Swanson in 1995, they made their home in Sioux City.
Bob was a truck driver for more than 40 years, specializing in heavy equipment hauling, retiring from Anderson Trucking Service in 2015. After retiring, he went to work for Fenton Construction.
He loved to build replica models, and was an avid boater. He also enjoyed cooking, baking and trying anything new.
Bob is survived by his wife, Robin of Sioux City; eight children, Sandy Puterbaugh and fiance, Daniel Perry of Onawa, Iowa, Brandy Puterbaugh of Onawa, Mandy Puterbaugh of Underwood, Iowa., Jason (Lori) Allen of Sioux City, James (Lori) Sanchez of Council Bluff, Iowa, Ricky Allen of Sioux City, Aaron (Stephanie) Puterbaugh of Rock Rapids, Iowa, and Amanda Parks of Sergeant Bluff; 27 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Lana (Mike) Parsons of Virginia Beach, Va.; and two brothers, Russell (Cecile) Puterbaugh of Ogden, Utah, and Kenneth Puterbaugh of Ridgecrest, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Delores Palacat; and brother, Jeffery Puterbaugh.
