SIOUX CITY | Siouxlanders need to wait out just one more day of cloudy, wet, cool weather before they can enjoy the outdoors again.

After Monday's brief reprieve from clouds and rain, Tuesday looks to be cool and cloudy with scattered showers throughout the day. The high temperature is expected to reach 58 degrees, which is well below normal.

"Everything looks better after today," said Janice Maldonado, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls.

Indeed.

Forecasts call for lots of sun and warmer temperatures beginning Wednesday and continuing into the Memorial Day weekend.

Sioux City high temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday are expected to be 65 degrees and 73 degrees, respectively. After a chance of scattered showers Thursday night, the sun will return on Friday with a high temperature forecast in the 70s.
