SIOUX CITY | Interstate 29 lanes in Woodbury County will be intermittently closed into Friday morning due to a beam placement project.

The work will be at Exit 135 at the Port Neal Industrial Area interchange. The closures will last from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 1 a.m. Thursday on northbound lanes and from 8 p.m. Thursday to 1 a.m. Friday on southbound lanes.

Traffic will be stopped for up to 20-minute intervals. Motorists approaching the area should drive with caution and be prepared for traffic delays beyond the work zone.

The work is undertaken by the Iowa Department of Transportation as part of a modernization of the Port Neal exit. The full project will be completed by late November. -- Bret Hayworth
