SIOUX CITY | A Sioux City teen has been arrested on a felony charge after police said he shot his three-year-old sister twice in the face with a BB gun.

Court documents filed Thursday said Adrian M. White, 17, shot his sister, who had to have surgery to remove one of the BBs.

White was arrested on a willful injury charge, after police said he shot his sister Wednesday. The documents said he was playing with a BB gun at a home in the 400 block of West Third Street, when he pointed at the 3-year-old's face and made two shots.

One BB fractured the girl's jaw, and the other BB entered near her eye and lodged next to her brain. One BB was removed by surgery, but the other was left in place, because doctors said surgery on the BB next to the brain was too risky, according to the documents.

White was held in Woodbury County Jail.
