SIOUX CITY | Heavy rain is falling Friday in Siouxland, and the National Weather Service continues to have flood warnings for areas around Sioux City.
The flood warnings are in place for the Big Sioux River at Akron, Iowa, the Big Sioux River north of Hawarden, Iowa, and the Vermillion River near Wakonda, South Dakota.
The week has seen a lot of rain in Siouxland. The Friday forecast for Sioux City includes a 100 percent chance of rain for the daytime and also for the evening. The combined rain amount over all of Friday could run from 1.25 to 1.75 inches, according to the weather service.
There is a 50 percent chance of rain for Saturday until 1 p.m. After that, there will gradual clearing, with a high near 71 degrees.
The Sunday forecast is for a sunny day with a high of 71 degrees.
