SIOUX CITY | The Floyd Boulevard bridge that stretches from Dace Avenue to Fourth Street will be close for a chunk of the daytime Sunday.
The City of Sioux City Engineering Division set the bridge closure, which will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., to allow for bridge repairs.
A detour route along Fourth Street, Steuben Street and Dace Avenue will be posted Sunday. Drivers are advised to reduce speed, drive cautiously and obey all traffic control signs associated with the work.
Elsewhere in the city in another highway project, the northbound Interstate 29 ramps to Wesley Parkway and Floyd Boulevard in Sioux City reopened Friday.
Contractors opened the northbound I-29 off-ramp to Wesley Parkway at Exit 148, plus opened the northbound I-29 on-ramp from Floyd Boulevard and Virginia Street. The project to modernize widen I-29 to three lanes in each direction from Sergeant Bluff, through Sioux City, to the South Dakota border is in its ninth year.
