SIOUX CITY | Heavy rain is forcing some metro football games to earlier times Friday night and some area schools are also moving contests to Saturday.
The Sergeant Bluff-Luton homecoming football game originally scheduled for Friday night has been moved to 5 p.m. Saturday, when the Warriors will host Humboldt.
The city games involving East, North and Bishop Heelan high schools have been moved up to 6 p.m. Friday.
The week has seen a lot of rain in Siouxland. The Friday forecast for Sioux City includes a 100 percent chance of rain for the daytime and also for the evening. The combined rain amount over all of Friday could run from 1.25 to 1.75 inches, according to the weather service.
With the changes, East will now host Des Moines Roosevelt at Olsen Stadium in Sioux City at 6 p.m., Heelan will play Algona at Memorial Field in Sioux City at 6 p.m., and North will play at 6 p.m. at Johnston, Iowa.
Two schools have not changed game times from 7 p.m., as West will play at Des Moines Lincoln and South Sioux City will play at Columbus, Nebraska.
