185th Refueling Wing KC-135

Eight Iowa Air National Guard Security Force personnel departed Sioux City in a KC-135 tanker Monday morning to offer assistance in Puerto Rico. Sixteen security force personnel from the 132nd Wing, Iowa National Guard based in Des Moines also departed Monday morning.

SIOUX CITY | Members of the public can drop by the Air National Guard Base to tour the facility, meet airmen and even participate in a 5K run during an open house event scheduled June 10. 

The open house, held by the 185th Air Refueling Wing, will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a 5K run or walk on the runway beginning at 9 a.m.

The KC-135 Stratotanker mid-air refueling aircraft flown by the 185th will be on display throughout the open house, as well as other current U.S. Air Force aircraft like the F-35 Lightning, F-16 Fighting Falcon, A-10 Thunderbolt II, F-15 Eagle, B-52 Bomber and C-17 Globemaster.
