(1) 46th Street
The project will remove and replace existing concrete and add a new storm sewer and sub-drain on 46th Street, between Hamilton Boulevard and Deerhaven Drive, and extend an existing storm sewer on Deerhaven. The work is expected to be completed in late October.
(2) Country Club Boulevard
The project includes full reconstruction of Country Club Boulevard from 38th Street to West Kings Highway, according to a city press release. Stage Three has been reopened to traffic; however, work continues to finish the site from Harvest Road to Manor Circle. Stage Five paving has been completed and site work is still underway, with a full closure from north of Perry Way to approximately 375 feet south of West Kings Highway. Stage Four, north of Manor Circle to 45th Street, is fully closed and utility installation is taking place. Full project completion is scheduled for on or before November 21.
(3) 30th Street and Pierce Street intersection
The intersection is closed to allow crews to redo the street and utilities affected by a broken storm sewer that caused a major sinkhole. Work is expected to continue through August.
(4) Lewis Boulevard
Sporadic lane restrictions in the northbound lane will occur as crews replace a water main from First to 11th streets. The work is estimated to go until November.
(5) West Seventh Street
The project includes full reconstruction of West Seventh Street from Hamilton Boulevard to Wesley Parkway. Stage One started May 1 and includes Wesley Parkway to Market Street as well as work on Bluff Street north and south of West Seventh, the city said. On July 31, Bluff Street north and south of West Seventh Street is anticipated to open to traffic and the intersection of Wesley Parkway and West Seventh will be switched to an all-way stop. Work will continue west after Stage One is completed with final project completion anticipated in August 2018, the city said. (6) Bryant Elementary School work
Roadwork began June 2 and is expected to last until August to prep the site of the future Bryant Elementary School. Stage Two paving has begun along the half block of Jones Street both north and south of 30th Street and some of 30th Street west of Jones. Jones opened up last week, but site work will still be occurring.
(7) Gordon Drive and 158th Street
The project includes a new traffic signal at the intersection of Gordon Drive and 158th Street. The work will also include sidewalk and pedestrian ramp improvements as well as a turning lane extension, the city said. Paving work has been completed and signal pole installations are anticipated to be completed at the end of August.
(8) Pierce Street
The project includes full reconstruction of Pierce Street from 24th to 29th streets. Stage One started June 26. The project will eventually realign Pierce in front of UnityPoint Health-St. Luke's in April 2018.
(9) Interstate 29
The Iowa Department of Transportation said a contractor will close the northbound off-ramp (exit 148) to Wesley Parkway July 5 so reconstruction work can begin on the northbound I-29 mainline. This closure will be in place until late November 2017.
(10) 18th Street
The city said 18th Street from Douglas Street to Grandview Boulevard will be closed for sanitary sewer repairs. The road is estimated to be reopened August 14.
