SIOUX CITY | Local football fans relying on DISH network to watch the Iowa-Iowa State game this afternoon can take a deep breath.

According to statement on the Big Ten Network website, the network has reached a short-term agreement with DISH that will allow the television carrier to continue to broadcast Big Ten sporting events on the network.

Here is the statement from the Big Ten Network:

"Big Ten Network (BTN) and DISH have come together to reach an agreement in principle for DISH to continue carrying BTN. We expect to finalize a long-term agreement soon and we thank fans for their patience."

Today's Iowa-Iowa State game is scheduled for a 3:42 p.m. kickoff in Iowa City. It is being carried on the Big Ten Network.
