REMSEN, Iowa | Mid-Sioux Opportunity Inc., of Remsen, is now accepting applications through April 30 for the Low-income Home Energy Assistance Program, or LiHEAP, from residents in its five-county service area.
Funded by the Department of Health and Human Services through the Iowa Department of Human Rights, the program helps qualifying low-income Iowa homeowners and renters pay a portion of their primary heating costs.
Applicants will need to provide a copy of their most recent heating and electric bill, birthdates of all household members, original Social Security or I-94 card for each household member and proof of all household members' gross income for the past calendar year (2016 federal income tax return), the past month or for the past 12 months.
