BERESFORD, S.D. | South Dakota authorities have identified a Beresford couple as victims of a fatal crash on Interstate 29.
Donald Anderson, 79, and Carol Anderson, 78, died Thursday in the two-vehicle collision eight miles north of Beresford.
According to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety, Thomas Jordan, 38, of Woodland, California, lost control of his northbound 2003 Ford F-150 pickup truck at about 12:20 p.m., left the road, rolled through the median and across the southbound lanes before landing on top of a southbound 2003 Volvo xc70 driven by Donald Anderson, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Carol Anderson, who was in the passenger seat, was later pronounced dead at a Sioux Falls hospital.
Jordan suffered serious non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a Sioux Falls hospital. Charges are pending.
