We need big changes to the City Council.
Voting this Tuesday is more important than ever. We the citizens of this town cannot keep going down the wrong path to more destruction. The crime rate has increased considerably in the last four years, our property taxes continue to rise every year. We need clean, good-paying jobs in this town (in my opinion, the new pork plant is an example of factories that emit greenhouse gases, which is the number one cause of global warming, and tons of sewage every day); we need to reuse the vacant buildings downtown; we need free parking downtown to help the merchants. The building of the new hotel is an example of wasted money. Let's not forget about payments to outside firms for studies.
I can go on and on, but we cannot make changes unless we vote. See you at the polls. - Diane Sorenson, Sioux City
