FREMONT, Neb. | Briar Cliff dug itself out of an early hole and picked up a GPAC victory 88-79 over Midland here Wednesday.

The Chargers trailed 35-14 after one quarter but outscored the Warriors 74-44 the rest of the way to improve to 6-7 overall and 3-2 in conference play.

Johanna Vaske led the way for the Chargers as she hit 12 of 19 shots for 29 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Faith Troshynski joined her in double figures with 12 points and Logan Ehlers had 11.

Briar Cliff hit 11 3-pointers, led by Troshynski's 4-for-4 effort.

Midland, which fell to 6-6 and 1-4 in the GPAC, got 16 points from Amanda Hansen and 13 each from Megan Kucks and Maddie Egr.
