MITCHELL, S.D. | Amber Bray and Kynedi Cheeseman each scored 15 points Saturday afternoon while leading the ninth-ranked Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball team to an 80-50 Great Plains Athletic Conference win over Briar Cliff at the Corn Palace.
Dakota Wesleyan (11-2, 5-2 GPAC) shot 54.4 percent from the field while Briar Cliff (6-9, 3-4 GPAC) shot just 30.9 percent. The Tigers stretched a 20-15 first-quarter lead by outscoring Coach Mike Power’s squad 21-7 in the second quarter.
Logan Ehlers scored a game-high 16 points for Briar Cliff, which lost for the third time in the last four games, each of the losses coming to nationally-ranked schools.
The Chargers are idle until Dec. 29 when they host No. 6 Jamestown.
