INDIANOLA, Iowa | Ellen Gallagher and Jenna Taylor each scored career-highs of 15 points while leading Simpson to an 80-72 Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference win over Loras Saturday at Cowles Fieldhouse.

Gallagher, a 6-foot senior from Moville, Iowa, shot 6 of 9 from the field, which included a 1 of 3 effort from 3-point range in the Storm’s third straight win. The former Woodbury Central High School standout also grabbed five rebounds while adding one assist, one steal and one blocked shot.

Simpson (10-4, 4-1 IIAC) started the game on fire, hitting its first four 3-pointers, including one from former Dakota Valley High School athlete Claire Johnson. The Storm went on a 14-4 run late in the first half to take a 43-38 halftime lead and entered the fourth quarter with a 66-56 lead.

Noreen Morrow, a former Harris-Lake Park athlete, added 14 points and eight rebounds, helping Simpson remain in second place in the IIAC, tied with Luther, both teams half a game behind first-place Wartburg.
