MITCHELL, S.D. | Peru State held Dordt in check in the first half and went on to claim the 94-84 victory at the Corn Palace on Saturday.

Dordt hit just 36 percent of its shots in the opening half as it trailed by six at the break. The Defenders headed up in the second half but could not slow Peru State.

Andrew O'Donnell had 17 points for the Defenders and Ben Gesink added 13.

Peru State (8-6) had five players in double figures led by Terry Moore Jr.'s 21.

Dordt is now 9-9 on the season.
