COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. | Maggie Schulte led a trio of double-digit scorers with 19 points as Wayne State’s women’s basketball team posted a 69-61 overtime win over Colorado-Colorado Springs Monday night at Gallogly Events Center.

Paige Ballinger and Kacie O’Connor added 11 and 10 points, respectively, for Wayne State (3-2), which outscored UCCS 13-5 in overtime. Seven of their points came from the charity stripe, two coming from Schulte, who began a 9-0 run with a pair of free throws with 2:38 left for a 62-61 lead, then followed with a jump shot.

O’Connor’s two free throws with 38 seconds left in regulation forced the game into overtime. Wayne State had a 21-9 free throw advantage and also limited itself to five turnovers while forcing 13.

Schulte also supplied nine rebounds and two steals. Ballinger blocked two shots for a squad that will host Graceland Thursday night at Rice Auditorium.
