FORT WAYNE, Ind. | South Dakota overcame cold shooting to top Fort Wayne 68-58 in a Summit League men’s basketball game at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum here Thursday night.
The Coyotes (15-5, 3-1) shot just 38 percent from the field, but outrebounded Fort Wayne 46-36 and scored 20 points off turnovers. Fort Wayne (12-8, 1-2) shot 35 percent.
Tyler Hagedorn posted a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds while Trey Burch-Manning added 12 points and eight rebounds and Tyler Peterson 12 points and seven caroms. Matt Mooney was also in double figures with 10 points.
USD trailed by nine points eight minutes into the game, but fought back to forge a 33-27 halftime advantage. It was the first road conference game for the Coyotes this season.
