NACOGDOCHES, Texas | Stephen F. Austin bolted to an 18-point lead after one quarter and went on to defeat South Dakota 77-55 in college women’s basketball action here Saturday.
Austin (6-1) outscored the Coyotes 11-1 in the final 2:26 of the first quarter to take command. The Ladyjackets forced 26 turnovers leading to 28 points.
Madison McKeever led South Dakota (4-4) with 11 points and tied her career high with four steals. Kate Liveringhouse and freshman Monica Arens added 10 points each, the third straight game in double figures for Arens.
Stevi Parker recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds for Stephen F. Austin, which had five players reach double figures.
South Dakota plays Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas, on Monday.
