HASTINGS, Neb. | Hastings didn't have to wait long to get a chance to avenge a 30-point loss to No. 9 Morningside and took advantage of the opportunity to gain a 91-80 Great Plains Athletic Conference men's basketball win over the Mustangs Saturday.
The Mustangs were 95-65 winners on their home court Wednesday but the trip to the Broncos' Lynn Farrell Arena saw the hosts force 23 turnovers and outscore the Mustangs 24-13 in points off miscues.
Kevin Miller scored 22 points to lead the Broncos (17-9 overall and 7-7 GPAC).
Despite losing the Mustangs remained tied for the GPAC lead with an 11-4 record after co-leader Briar Cliff lost to Dakota Wesleyan 88-73 Saturday. Alex Borchers had 22 points to lead Morningside while Brody Egger added 16. Tyler Borchers 13 and Matthew Hahn 10.
