ABERDEEN, S.D. -- Northern State snapped a long regular season losing skid to Wayne State in Friday's 81-71 Northern Sun Conference victory at Wachs Arena.
The 20th-ranked Wolves ended a 13-game skid against the Wildcats that dated back to the 2008 by shooting 56 percent (36-for-64) from the field in the triumph.
Miranda Ristau led the Southern Division leaders with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Now 14-2 overall and 10-1 in the NSIC, Northern State bolted to a 7-2 lead and never trailed in the contest.
Wayne State got as close as eight points in the second half, falling to 14-5 and 8-3 in league play.
Maggie Schulte led Wayne State with 22 points while Paige Ballinger added 18.
