ORANGE CITY, Iowa - Tyler Walker of Northwestern College was selected as the 2011 Great Plains Athletic Conference male A.O. Duer Award recipient.

The award, established in 1967, recognizes a junior female and male student-athlete who has excelled in character, playing ability and scholarship. The award is named after former NAIA executive director Al Duer.

Walker, from Arlington, Texas, is a two-year letterwinner in both football and track at Northwestern.
