SIOUX CITY | Morningside had three players finish in the top 10 individually en route to the team title in the Morningside Spring Invitational women’s golf tournament at Whispering Creek Wednesday.

The Mustangs picked up their sixth tournament championship of the 2016-17 season with a 334 total. Northwestern and Mount Marty tied for second at 341 and Briar Cliff finished fourth with 349.

Amy Ahlers of Concordia had the low round of the day with a 71, while Kristin Sabers of Dakota Wesleyan, competing individually, was runner-up with 77.

Logan Wagner of Mount Marty was third with 79, Nathalie Sanchez of Morningside fourth with 80 and Mikaela Livengood of Morningside and Kellie Winckler of Mount Marty tied for fifth at 81.

Morningside’s Myla Brown, the Great Plains Athletic Conference player of the week, also garnered a top 10 finish, tying for 10th with 85. The victorious Mustangs also counted Alex Mankle with 88.
