BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Buena Vista won the second game of a softball doubleheader with 10th-ranked (NCAA Division III) Illinois Wesleyan, 4-3, here Friday. Illinois Wesleyan prevailed in the opener, 6-1.
Michaela Mason was 3-for-4 at the plate with two home runs while Marissa Promes pitched a complete game four-hitter for the Beavers in the nightcap. Mason slugged solo homers in the fifth and seventh innings, while Mckynze Hansen singled home a run.
Hansen had two of BVU’s six hits in the first game. Moriah Guyett suffered the pitching loss. Buena Vista is 12-6 on the season.
