Jack Wegher has transferred from Purdue to the Northern Iowa.
The 5-foot-10, 205-pound running back is set to join the Panthers, an FCS school in the Missouri Valley Football Conference, and has three years of eligibility remaining.
Wegher was a running back at Bishop Heelan as a freshman for the 2012 season before moving to the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. He led the Crusaders in rushing in his only season with 615 yards and seven touchdowns.
In his first year at IGM, Wegher backed up current Alabama running back Bo Scarbrough and ran for more than 352 yards. He followed that up with nearly 650 yards a year later, and averaged 8.1 yards per carry and 12.0 yards per reception with two touchdown catches his senior season.
Wegher, the younger brother of former Heelan and Morningside standout Brandon, had four carries for minus-five yards and two catches for 37 yards in 2016 for the Boilermakers before missing this past season due to injury.
