SILVIS, Ill. | Northwestern College’s men’s golf team went into the clubhouse tied for 21st place after shooting a 309 during second-round action Wednesday at the NAIA Men’s Golf Championships held at TPC at Deere Run.
Overall, Coach Aaron Aberson’s team is tied with St. Ambrose with a 608 heading into today’s third round. Coastal Georgia has a 565-566 lead over Dalton State for first in the overall standings while Keiser, the first round leader, is tied with Oklahoma City for third, both at 572.
Colton Kooima was Northwestern’s leader on Wednesday with a 76 (38-38). Kooima is the Red Raiders’ leader after two days with a 149 that included a 73 on Tuesday.
Justin Kraft, the Great Plains Athletic Conference player of the year, shot a 77 (36-41). Evan Schuler fired a 78 (41-37), the same score for Austin Reitz (39-39). Zach Riddle shot an 80 (40-40).
Reitz has a 151 (73-78) after the first two days while Schuler has a 153 (75-78). Kraft is at 155 (78-77) wile Riddle is at 157 (79-80).
S.M. Lee of Dalton State is the individual leader after two days with a three-under-par round of 137 (69-68). Ben Kendrick of Cumberlands is in second with a 139 (71-68).
