FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The South Dakota men’s golf team placed 11th at the Mason Rudolph Championship which concluded Sunday in Franklin, Tennessee. Junior Tommy Vining paced the Coyotes, tying for 18th with 220 strokes.
Vining ranked second in the field with 15 birdies and tallied scores of 71-73-76 for his 220. Sophomore Scott Fudenberg placed in a tie for 50th with 228 strokes (79-73-76).
Freshman Tate Arends finished just one shot behind Fudenberg with 229 strokes (76-77-76) and in a tie for 57th. Arends tallied the sixth-best average on par-5 holes with 4.5 strokes per par-5 over the three rounds at Vanderbilt Legends Club. The course played 7,100 yards and to a par-71.
Sophomore Matt Tolan tied for 64th with a 231 (75-79-77) and senior Matt Swanson placed in a tie for 72nd position with 234 strokes (74-75-85).
