RENSEN, Iowa -- Spencer Schorg scored 18 points to lead No. 3 St. Mary's (Class 1A) to a War Eagle Conference boys basketball win 80-38 over Trinity Christian in a game played in Remsen, Iowa Friday.
Nicholas Ruden also scored 16 points and Brody Ricke 12 for the Hawks (19-0). Jon Andringa led Trinity Christian with 10 points.
WEST MONONA 64, RIVER VALLEY 44: Gage Rotnicke scored 32 points and had 10 rebounds as he led the Spartans past the Wolverines in a Western Valley Conference tournament boys basketball game played in Sioux City Friday.
Calvin Coffman also scored a dozen points for West Monona (8-10). Garrett Trapp had 17 points to pace River Valley.
SPIRIT LAKE 74, STORM LAKE 58: Owen Coburn scored a game-high 28 points to help the Indians power past the Tornadoes in a Lakes Conference boys basketball game played in Storm Lake, Iowa Friday.
Alex Van Dyke also scored 23 points and Kid Hurd 14 for Spirit Lake (13-4). Cham Deng scored 19 points, Brayden Hoops 12 and Lamar Mulgae 10 for Storm Lake.
GEHLEN CATHOLIC 74, HMS 56: Cole Wiltgen rained in a game-high 31 points to lead the Jays to a War Eagle Conference boys basketball win over the Hawks in a game played in Le Mars, Iowa Friday.
Brian Nohava also scored 13 and grabbed 10 rebounds while Jacob Nemmer added 11 points for Gehlen. Ivan Abonce scored 12 points to lead Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn.
WESTWOOD 54, WOODBURY CENTRAL 41: Drew Brekke scored 22 points as the Westwood boys basketball team defeated Woodbury Central in a consolation game of the Western Valley Conference tournament on Friday in Sloan.
Jacob Miller recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Rebels (8-9).
Mitch Countryman finished with 16 points for Woodbury Central (9-10) and Dustin Widman added 12.
The game was tied at 25-all at halftime and Westwood led just 40-37 through three quarters. The Rebels then outscored Woodbury Central 14-4 in the final stanza.
SOUTH O’BRIEN 80, AKRON-WESTFIELD 54: Peyton Brasser scored 20 points and Carson Louscher tossed in 18 as the South O’Brien boys basketball team downed Akron-Westfield 80-54 on Friday in Akron.
Jackson Louscher had 15 points for the Wolverines (13-5) and Layn Case added 11.
Nick Jacobs finished with 19 points for Akron-Westfield (6-13).
UNITY CHRISTIAN 79, CLAY CENTRAL-EVERLY 37: Sam Byker scored 17 points and Jonah Vander Kooi 11 to lead the Knights to a War Eagle Conference boys basketball win over the Mavericks in a game played in Orange City, Iowa Friday.
Ryan Fedders and Adam Viet also had 10 for Unity Christian (14-6 overall, 10-0 WEC). Ben McClain scored 16 points and Jon Galm 14 for the Mavericks (2-17 overall, 0-10 WEC).
GTRA 67, SIOUX CENTRAL 62: Jacob Conlon scored 26 points and his younger brother Chris tossed in 12 as the GTRA boys basketball team defeated Sioux Central 67-62 in a Twin Lakes Conference game on Friday in Graettinger.
Tom Geelan and Tyson Kruse both had 10 points for GTRA (13-6).
Blake Cavanaugh finished with 12 points for Sioux Central (10-8) and Jake Hanson added 11.
Sioux Central scored with a under a minute left in the game to trim the lead to 64-62, but the Rebels couldn’t get any closer in the final seconds.
DENISON-SCHLESWIG 70, CLARINDA 53: Cameron Webb scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Denison-Schleswig boys defeated Clarinda in a Hawkeye 10 Conference game on Friday in Clarinda.
Ben Pardun had 13 points for the Monarchs (9-9) and Goanar Biliew added 10.
Clarinda drops to 6-12.
WAYNE 65, CROFTON 25: Jack Evetovich scored 16 points as the Wayne boys basketball team defeated Crofton on Friday.
Shea Sweetland had 14 points for Wayne (12-10) and Mason Lee finished with 10.
Crofton falls to 2-16 on the season.
YANKTON 58, PIERRE 50: Matthew Mors scored 32 points as the Yankton boys basketball team defeated Pierre 58-50 on Friday in Pierre.
Jack Wolfgram had 15 points for Yankton (9-5).
Carson Tschetter finished with 22 points for Pierre (4-11) and Peyton Zabel added 13.
BLOOMFIELD 53, EMERSON-HUBBARD 36: Braden Eisenhauer scored 12 points for Bloomfield in Thursday night’s triumph at the Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament.
Mitchell Mackeprang added 11 points for Bloomfield (6-16), which rallied from a 13-9 first-quarter deficit to outscore Emerson-Hubbard 24-8 in the second quarter to take a 33-21 halftime lead.
