MOVILLE, Iowa | Woodbury Central players netted 9 of 10 free throws in the final 41 seconds to maintain a lead before sewing up a 67-62 victory over Storm Lake St. Mary's in a non-conference boys' basketball tilt in Moville on Tuesday.

Wildcat guards Mitchell Countryman, Dustin Widman, Carter Schultzen and Christopher Mandl combined for those final Wildcat tallies, all from the charity stripe.

St. Mary's got a pair of late 3-pointers and a free throw by senior Will Hurd to keep it close as the Panthers cut a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit to three points on a trio of occasions in the closing minute.

Senior Will Hurd joined junior Alex Merten atop the Panther ledger with 13 points apiece. Junior Chakouthchok Malou added 10 for a St. Mary's team that slipped to 1-6.

Countryman, a sophomore, netted game-high honors with 22 points. Widman, Schultzen and Mandl scored 16, 11 and 9 points, respectively, as the Wildcats moved to 5-6 on the season.

BISHOP HEELAN 64, UNITY CHRISTIAN 50: Elijah Hazekamp scored 19 points and Jackson Boever added 17 to lead the No. 2-ranked Crusaders (Class 3A) past the No. 8 Knights (Class 2A) in a boys basketball game played in Orange City, Iowa Tuesday.

Colin Kasperbauer also chipped in 15 points for the Crusaders, who remain unbeaten after seven games into their campaign. Damon Dekkers had 11 points and Austin Van Donge 10 for the Knights (7-2).

BOYER VALLEY 58, EXIRA-EHK 45: Chad Klein scored 17 points and Joe Weber 15 to lead the Bulldogs to a win in a Rolling Valley Conference boys basketball game played in Dunlap, Iowa Tuesday. Weber also dished out eight assists as Boyer Valley moved to 8-2 overall and 7-0 in the RVC. Trey Nelson scored 15 points to lead Exira-EHK (3-5 overall, 2-5 RVC).

Nebraska

PONCA 65, CROFTON 20: Max Masin scored 13 points to lead the Indians to a commanding win over the Warriors in a boys basketball game in Ponca, Nebraska. Connor Day and Carter Kingsbury also scored 10 points Ponca (8-0).
