ONAWA, Iowa | Despite trailing at halftime and heading into the fourth quarter, Class 1A fifth-ranked Kingsley-Pierson rallied to down Westwood 64-52 to win the Western Valley Conference title.

In a rematch of last year's game, K-P got 24 points and 10 rebounds from Bri Jensen, 15 from Addison Hirschman and 11 from Jayde Barto.

The Panthers trailed 26-25 at the break and 44-39 going to the fourth quarter, but was able to tie the game with six minutes to go and took the lead with four left to play. Improved defense and some free throws iced the game late.

Westwood's Carah Drees led all players with 29 points. The junior went over 1,000 points in her career in the process, just the third to do so in school history in five-player history.

Kingsley-Pierson is now 18-2 overall while Westwood is 15-5.

ELK POINT-JEFFERSON 44, WEBSTER AREA 32: Kalla Bertram scored 16 points as Elk Point-Jefferson earned a victory Saturday in the Dakota XII/NEC Clash in Madison.

Riley Donnelly added 11 points for the Huskies (7-9) while Kenna Curry pulled down 10 rebounds.

VERMILLION 49, CASTLEWOOD 42: Kasey Jensen and Emily Bye scored 10 points each as Vermillion posted a win over Castlewood on Saturday in the Dakota XII/NEC Clash in Madison.

Late Friday

POCAHONTAS 77, WEST BEND-MALLARD 46: Jill Vonnahme hit seven three's and finished with 21 points as Pocahontas downed West Bend-Mallard in a Twin Lakes Conference contest on Friday.

Jocelyn Johnson had 17 points while Elizabeth Ricke added 10 points and nine rebounds in the win.

Trissa Schmidt had 11 points for WBM.

OSMOND 55, LAUREL-CONCORD/COLERIDGE 52: Caitlin Kumm scored 21 points and Andrea Schmit had 13 as Osmond tripped Laurel-Concord/Coleridge in a Lewis & Clark Conference tournament consolation contest on Friday.

Lorna Maxon had 14 points, Makayla Forsberg 13 points and eight rebounds and Bryn Schutte 11 points for LCC.
