HULL, Iowa | Jacob Vis scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds as the top-ranked (2A) Western Christian boys basketball team defeated No. 7 Bishop Heelan 77-71 in a non-conference game here Saturday.

Caleb Harmsen finished with 18 points for Western Christian (16-0) while both Ben Granstra and Carter Broek added 16.

Elijah Hazekamp recorded a double-double for Heelan (9-5) with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Colin Kasperbauer had 17 points and Brenden Roder added 13.

Heelan led 55-52 through three quarters, but Western Christian outscored the Crusaders 25-16 in the final stanza. Harmsen hit a 3-pointer in the fourth quarter to give Western Christian a 60-57 lead that the Wolfpack would never relinquish.

Western Christian hosts Storm Lake on Tuesday while Heelan plays at fifth-ranked (B) Omaha Skutt on Tuesday.
