HARTINGTON CEDAR CATHOLIC 70, PENDER 58: Riley Arens scored a game-high 22 points while leading Hartington Cedar Catholic in Thursday’s first-round game at the Great Northeast Nebraska Shootout.
Matthew Becker added 19 points for Hartington Cedar Catholic (5-3), which jumped to a 22-14 first-quarter lead en route to its second straight victory. Eric Schopke made a game-high four 3-point baskets in a 16-point performance for Pender (4-4).
WEST POINT-BEEMER 52, NORFOLK CATHOLIC 31: Blake Anderson scored 11 points for West Point-Beemer, which stretched a 9-8 first-quarter lead with a 26-2 second-quarter run Thursday in first-round play at the Great Northeast Nebraska Shootout.
Chase Streeter added 10 points for West Point-Beemer (4-3) while Ethan Piper scored a game-high 14 points for Norfolk Catholic (0-7).
WAYNE 76, LAUREL CONCORD-COLERIDGE 57: Wayne jumped out to a 15-8 lead in the first quarter and went on to win at the Great Northeast Nebraska Shootout in Wayne Thursday.
Wayne (3-5) was led by Mason Lee's 21 points while Shea Sweetland added 13. Jack Evetovich added 13 and Cody Rogers had 10.
LCC (7-2) was paced by Ty Erwin and Izac Reifenrath who both had 15 points.
ARLINGTON 54, GORDON-RUSHVILLE 49: Arlington handed Gordon-Rushville its first loss of the season, 55-49, in the first round of the Great Northeast Nebraska Shootout Thursday at Wayne.
Jackson Borgman finished with 19 points for Arlington (3-5) while Korby Campbell paced Gordon-Rushville (7-1) with 20 points.
HARTINGTON CEDAR CATHOLIC 70, PENDER 43: Anna Reifenrath scored 20 points as Hartington Cedar Catholic’s girls posted their sixth straight win at Thursday’s Great Northeast Nebraska Shootout.
Both Reifenrath and Jada Cattau (14 points) made two 3-point baskets for Hartington Cedar Catholic (6-1), which stretched a 9-8 lead by outscoring Pender in the second quarter.
Sarah Krueger paced Pender (3-7) with 11 points.
NORFOLK CATHOLIC 53, WEST POINT-BEEMER 46: Taylor Gilsdorf scored 12 points and Chelsey Reifert added 10 as Norfolk Catholic rallied from a 9-7 first-quarter deficit to post a win at Thursday’s Great Northeast Nebraska Shootout.
Norfolk Catholic (3-5) went on a 12-7 second-quarter run and from there, never trailed.
Brittany Hinkel scored 18 points to lead West Point-Beemer (4-4).
WAYNE 54, GORDON-RUSHVILLE 25: Kylie Hammer and Gabi Meyer both had 12 points apiece for Wayne (7-3) as it won its opening game at the Great Northeast Nebraska Shootout Thursday.
Gordon-Rushville (4-4) had three players with six points apiece.
ARLINGTON 52, LAUREL-CONCORD-COLERIDGE 35: Maggie Schmidt tossed in 20 points, leading Arlington to a 52-35 win over Laurel-Concord-Coleridge in the Great Northeast Nebraska Shootout at Rice Auditorium on the campus of Wayne State College Thursday.
Katelyn Steffen led LC-C (4-5) with 10 points.
