HAWARDEN, Iowa | Jake Lynott rushed 19 times for 254 yards and three touchdowns while leading top-ranked West Sioux to Friday night’s 54-12 Class 11A quarterfinal rout over West Hancock.

En route to topping 50 points for the eighth time this season, West Sioux (11-0) exploded for 542 yards total offense. Quarterback Hunter Dekkers completed 6 of 12 passes for 182 yards and two touchdowns, one to Jake Lynott (2 catches, 75 yards) and a 55-yarder to Kade Lynott.

Zach Hulshof paced the Falcons’ defense with six solo tackles and 15 tackle assists. Chase Koopmans added nine solo tackles and nine tackle assists.

Jake Lynott opened the game with a 64-yard punt return touchdown for a squad that will face Council Bluffs St. Albert (10-1) in a semifinal game that will begin at 1:06 Friday afternoon.

It will be the first-ever semifinal game for West Sioux. In fact, it's a rematch from a quarterfinal a year ago as St. Albert posted a 21-14 quarterfinal win at Council Bluffs.

COUNCIL BLUFFS ST. ALBERT 31, GEHLEN CATHOLIC 10: Council Bluffs St Albert took advantage of four Le Mars Gehlen Catholic turnovers and went on to win a 31-10 decision in a Class A quarterfinal football playoff game Friday evening.

The Falcons (10-1) got a pair of touchdown passes from quarterback Kyle Barnes and a back-breaking 53-yard interception for a score in the fourth quarter while the Jays were driving for the tying score to go ahead 24-10.

Gehlen (8-3) pulled to within 17-10 with 3:25 left in the third quarter when quarterback Cole Wiltgen found Izaac Herbst for a 65-yard touchdown strike

Luke Waters added an insurance touchdown with 2:38 for St. Albert, which will advance to face West Sioux Friday, Nov. 10 at 1 p.m. in the UNI Dome in a semifinal game.

BOYDEN-HULL/ROCK VALLEY 28, SOUTH CENTRAL CALHOUN 20: Brayton Van Kekerix had a pair of touchdown run as the top-ranked (2A) Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley football team defeated seventh-ranked South Central Calhoun 28-20 in the Class 2A quarterfinals here Friday.

Van Kekerix had touchdown runs of 6 and 48 yards. Van Kekerix’s 48-yard run with 6:46 left in the game extended the BH/RV lead to 28-20. J.T. Van’t Hul scored on a 6-yard run early in the third quarter for BH/RV (10-1). Van't Hul rushed 14 times for 92 yards while completing 3 of 14 passes for 63 yards.

Van Kekerix also shined defensively for the Nighthawks, posting four solo tackles, seven tackle assists, one solo tackle for loss and one tackle assist for loss. Fumble recoveries came from Evan Van Kekerix, Beau De Jongh and Kaden Willemssen.

Chase McAlister caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Hunter Muhlbauer for SCC (9-2).

BH/RV plays fifth-ranked Waukon on Saturday at the UNI Dome in at 4 p.m. in Cedar Falls.

REMSEN ST. MARY'S 64, AUDUBON 32: Canaan Cox scored five touchdowns and accounted for over 300 all-purpose yards as second-ranked Remsen St. Mary's outscored third-ranked Audubon 64-32 in an eight-man quarterfinal on Friday.

Remsen St. Mary's took advantage of several Audubon turnovers in the contest, building a 20-0 lead and going into halftime ahead 36-6.

Audubon, though, came back in the third quarter, cutting the deficit to as little as 16 at 42-26 before Remsen St. Mary's closed it out with three fourth quarter touchdowns.

The Hawks advance to the state semifinals at the UNI-Dome where they will face Fremont-Mills on Thursday at 12:06 p.m.

Kenny Bohenkamp and Carter Kuchel each caught TD passes from quarterback Derrick Schorg. Schorg added a couple of touchdown runs himself for Remsen St. Mary's, now 10-0.
